May 29, 2012

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Because this is likely to be our final newsletter of the school year, I really must acknowledge some tremendous support we’ve received from parents. I am thankful to all parents who check their child’s planner at night or otherwise reinforce the message that school is important. I’m grateful for the effort parents make to come to school to meet with teachers, attend special events, or chaperone field trips.

One small cluster of parents, those on our P.T.O., organized a series of events that have had a wonderfully positive impact on the Daley School community this year. They have promoted responsible citizenship through Student of the Month awards, and by organizing fifth & sixth grade socials have generated great school spirit among our younger students. Recently, they honored our teachers with a Teacher Appreciation Lunch. These P.T.O. parents have given freely of their time and shown a great deal of effort. Their support helps us to succeed as a community and succeed in providing a more nurturing, spirit-filled environment for all of our children. We are very grateful.

Finally, please support us by attending our final family event of the year, the School Fair, on Thursday, 5/31. Student work and productions from grades 5 & 6, as well as music and writing classes, will be featured from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. Beforehand, from 5:30 – 6:30pm, you can come eat at our cookout while being entertained by our school band. It promises to be a lot of fun for the whole family! (See the sign-up notice in this newsletter.)

Sincerely,

Liam Skinner, Principal
